FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Consolidation of Law and Motion and Discovery Proceedings for Actions Pending in Pleasanton and Eastern Divisions of the Court in the Hayward Hall of Justice.

Effective January 2, 2002, law and motion and discovery proceedings for actions pending in the Southern and Eastern Divisions of the Court, including the Gale/Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton, will be scheduled for hearing in Department 514 of the Hayward Hall of Justice, the Honorable Kenneth Mark Burr, Judge of the Superior Court, Presiding.

These matters will no longer be heard in Department 705 of the Gale/Schenone Hall of Justice. This change applies to general and limited civil law and motion matters, excluding unlawful detainer actions.

As a result of these changes, procedures will be streamlined and public access enhanced because motions will be heard five days a week.

Alameda County Superior Court Rules 5.0 and 5.1 and the Appendix thereto, have been revised to reflect the consolidation of the Pleasanton law and motion matters in Hayward.

 

 

Excludes Unlawful Detainer

Beginning on January 2, 2002, all such motions (excluding Unlawful Detainers) will be heard daily at 2:00 p.m. in Department 514, by appointment only. Moving parties should call the calendar clerk at (510) 670-6634 and reserve time before filing a motion.

Ex parte applications for actions pending in the Southern and Eastern Divisions of the Court (excluding Unlawful Detainers) will also be calendared for hearing at the Hayward Hall of Justice. Applications for ex parte relief will be heard daily at 9:00 a.m. in Department 514, by appointment only.

Such matters shall be set for hearing pursuant to the notice procedures set forth in Rule 379 of the California Rules of Court. Moving parties must call (510) 670-5907 to obtain an appointment on the ex parte calendar.

Unlawful Detainer Matters Remain at Gale/Schenone Hall of Justice.

Motions and ex parte applications filed in Unlawful Detainer actions venued in the Eastern Division of the Court will continue to be heard on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in Department 707 of the Gale/Schenone Hall of Justice.

 

 

Unlawful Detainer Matters Remain at the Hayward Hall of Justice

Motions and ex parte applications filed in Unlawful Detainer actions venued in the Southern Division of the Court will continue to be heard at 2:00 p.m. in Department 521 of the Hayward Hall of Justice.
