Appeals Unit

The Appeals Division located at 1225 Fallon Street G-4, Oakland, CA 94612 is open daily from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Civil

Effective January 1, 2022, e-filing (Civil) will be mandatory for all represented parties. Counsel for represented parties must file and accept service using a court approved EFSP. Self-represented parties may submit appellate filings via U.S. mail, in-person or via e-filing.  Any self-represented party who consents to participate in the e-filing system also consents to thereafter file, serve, and accept service by electronic means. Drop box filings are accepted for self-represented parties at the René C. Davidson Courthouse only between 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Family Law, Mental Health and Probate

Effective October 23, 2023, e-filing (Family Law, Mental Health and Probate) will be mandatory for all represented parties.  Counsel for represented parties must file, serve and accept service electronically, except by court order or if other service is required by law. Self-represented parties may submit appellate filings via U.S. mail, in-person or via e-filing.  Drop box filings are accepted for self-represented parties at the René C. Davidson Courthouse only between 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Criminal, Juvenile and Traffic

Counsel for represented parties and self-represented parties may submit appellate filings via U.S. mail, in-person or via e-filing. Drop box filings are accepted at the René C. Davidson Courthouse only between 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Exhibit Service Office

The Exhibit Division located at 1225 Fallon Street G-4, Oakland, CA 94612 is open daily from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Parties that have an Order for return of evidence or exhibits must call 510-891-6001 or email exhibitservices@alameda.courts.ca.gov to schedule an appointment for the ordered return. Please allow 24 hours for a response.
