Hiring Process
-
Apply
If you find a job that you believe is a good fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. We encourage you to apply through Workday, our application tracking system, to search and submit your application for available positions.
-
Application Review
Our goal is to bring the best talent into the Court by identifying qualified candidates within the applicant pool who meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the job description. To help determine if you meet these qualifications, please provide a detailed description of your experience for each role and answer the supplemental questions thoroughly.
-
Assessment & Testing
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring manager for review to help identify the best candidate for an interview. Depending on the position, you may be asked to complete an interview, situational exercise, online questionnaire, or a combination of assessments. You will be contacted with additional details after we review your application.
-
Interview
Interviews are currently held either in-person or virtually, depending on the hiring manager's preference. They are typically conducted by a panel of several individuals. You may be asked to participate in multiple rounds of interviews, where you will meet with the hiring manager, potential colleagues, and a member of division leadership. We will provide you with the details ahead of time, so you’ll know what to expect and how to prepare.
-
Job Offer
After the interviews, the hiring manager will determine who to extend the job offer to. The recruiter will then contact you directly with a verbal offer. This is an excellent time for you to ask any remaining questions before deciding whether to accept the contingent offer.
-
Pre-Employment
Once you accept the verbal offer, we will prepare and send you an official offer letter. You will need to log into your Workday account (applicant tracking system) to review the offer letter to officially accept the offer. After you accept the written contingent offer, the Court will begin the pre-employment screening process which includes an education verification, employment reference checks, and a criminal background check.
-
Onboarding
Once your hire date is determined, a final offer will sent and we will contact you to guide you through the online onboarding process, which includes necessary new hire tasks to ensure a smooth start to your employment. On your first day, you will participate in New Hire Orientation with HR. Your supervisor and new team will have a plan to help you settle into your role, get to know your division, and become familiar with the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda.
