Power Repairs and Backup Generator Failure Causes Closure; Cases Sent to an Oakland Courthouse.

Dublin, Calif. – February 26, 2025 – Felony and misdemeanor criminal cases scheduled to take place in the East County Hall of Justice today will be moved to Oakland as power cannot currently be restored to the Dublin courthouse.

In-custody felony criminal cases will be moved to Department 11 in the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse at 1225 Fallon St, Oakland beginning at 1 p.m. today. In-custody misdemeanor cases will be moved to Department 2 at the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse starting at 1 p.m. today. A total of 281 cases will be moved.

Defendants who are out of custody with a scheduled hearing today do not have to appear in court and will automatically have their case continued. They can check the status of their case online at the Court’s online Criminal Case Portal (https://www.alameda.courts.ca.gov/online-services/criminal-case-portal) or online Find My Next Court Date (https://www.alameda.courts.ca.gov/online-services/find-your-court-date).

The traffic clerk’s office is also closed. If you need to visit a traffic clerk’s office, the court has traffic clerk offices open at the Fremont Hall of Justice at 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont and the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse at 661 Washington St., Oakland.

The power failure at the East County Hall of Justice was due to ongoing maintenance and repairs of the main power source to the building. As the repairs were proceeding, the building was utilizing a backup generator as its sole power source. That generator failed this morning.

Contractors are working to repair the backup generator. Please visit the Court’s website at www.alameda.courts.ca.gov for updates on the building’s status tomorrow morning.

The Court apologizes for any inconvenience this power outage has caused.
